When it comes to taking out money for the trip:

Porto and Lisbon are quite modern and widely accept credit cards in most establishments, including restaurants and excursion providers. However, it doesn’t hurt to carry some cash on you in case you find yourself in a place of business that is only accepting cash. Although you can always find a bank in order to get cash in a pinch, do your research because some banks will charge you a fee to withdraw abroad.

Tip: It's also wise to notify your bank of your travel plans to avoid any issues with using your credit card abroad. Otherwise, your bank provider might think that your account information has been compromised and lock your funds.

In regards to our plan, we will be mainly using our visa to pay for things while in Portugal. For the three weeks we are planning to stay, we are thinking about withdrawing roughly $250.00.
